The Trio is Back!

8 03 2016

For the third time in my mission I will be in a trio! Haha I’ve loved every trio that I’ve been in so far so I’m sure this one will be great as well. Elder Dunn and I will be getting Elder Fairbanks tomorrow. He was suppose to come in last transfer but he was held up by his Visa. He is from Canada! So we are excited to train him!

Hmmm so this week. This week was awesome! We had an awesome baptism for Arielle and Ashley Flott. As usual for my mission thus far, the children lead the way! If you ever had questions about what Christ said concerning children

(And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.)

Its’ true, I checked. One of the greatest blessings of being a missionary is experiencing the change in peoples lives as they live the gospel. Just as we learn in John 7:17

(If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.)

If you want to know if this gospel is true and really will change your life for the better, just try it out. Just do it and do it with a sincere heart and you will see the hand of the Lord more abundantly in your life. Arielle and Ashley are examples of that. They may not yet recognize how much they have changed but it’s been incredible to witness it. When we first met them they said there was NO way that they would ever pray out loud. Never in their lives. And now they have been baptized and confirmed members of Jesus Christ church! And yes, they do pray. It makes me happy happy happy.

This week I was once again humbled… I had been sick for a little over a week. It was really starting to get annoying. I told Elder Dunn that if I wasn’t feeling better by the next morning then I would ask for a blessing. The next morning I still wasn’t better. And I was too prideful to ask for a blessing. We continued to work through the week. Then a couple days later, another missionary got sick. He was more humble than I am… He asked for one right away and then I decided to ask for one since he was getting one too. In the blessing I was told that the Lord wanted to heal me. He was just waiting for me to ask.. And now I’m better. I feel pretty stupid. hahaha but I learned from my prideful mistakes. I don’t know why we sometimes hesitate to ask for blessings. Or for the Lords help.. He is so ready and willing to give it. It’s the natural man in us that prevents us from asking for help. Sometimes we make life harder than it needs to be. So I hope that you all will learn from my mistakes and be more humble that me! If your sick, ask for a blessing! If you need the Lords help in any way, ask for His help! He is ready and willing to give it to you. His work and his glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man! Think about that! His end goal, his number one desire is that we return to him and receive all that He has. He loves us so much. And if that’s his goal and his desire, then I’m pretty sure He will help us in our times of struggle, sickness, heartache, and trial. Actually I know He will. I checked 🙂

Well that’s all for this week! Love you all! Hope life is treating you as well as it is treating me! I love being here so much. It’s the best!

Have a great week!

“I Give Unto Men Weakness That They May Be Humble”

27 02 2016

27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

This is pretty true…. I checked.

The Lord will have a humble people. It is up to us whether or not we prefer to choose to be humble or whether we are compelled to be humble.

I was reflecting on some of my weaknesses this past week. It seems like the same weaknesses have plagued me for the longest time and it has brought me a lot of frustration throughout my life. So naturally if there is a problem we try to think of ways that we can fix them. I was really pondering on why I would struggle with some of my weaknesses. I was also pondering on what the Lord would have me learn from them. I constantly prayed, asking for him to reveal it to me. And asking for strength as well. So the question still remained for me… Why would I still be experiencing these weaknesses? The scripture in Ether says that if we come unto the Lord he will show them their weaknesses. Check. If they humble themselves before me and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. Check. Finally, as I continued to ponder, it hit me. I thought about how things would be without those weaknesses. I thought about who I would be. It brought chills to me. I realized how prideful I would be. To be honest, it kinda scared me. It scared me to the point that I became grateful for my weaknesses. I began to think of all of the blessings that have come into my life as a result of my weaknesses. I’ve come so much closer to my Savior because I’ve realized how weak I truly am and how much I need Him. I felt the spirit so strongly as I finally came to that realization. Ever since that moment, I’ve felt so much more spiritual strength and felt the hand of the Lord lifting me up to rise above my weaknesses. So like I said before. Ether 12:27. It’s true. I checked.
This week has been great. Other than being sick… That hasn’t been fun. But we’ve been extremely blessed. Elder Dunn has been great. We have been having a lot of fun while getting a lot of work done. This ward is on fire right now! It’s so cool. Every week that I’ve been here a member has brought a nonmember friend to church. It’s amazing!

That’s all for this week. I’m pretty exhausted. I think I’m finally recovering from being sick. But keep me in your prayers please! Being sick is NOT fun!

Love you all! Appreciate all that you do. I feel you prayers and support everyday! I really do.

Hope you all have a great week!

Love,

Elder Fischer

So You Want to Be Happy?

25 02 2016

I learned how we can be happy this week! 🙂 And it’s so cool because everyone can learn how to be happy regardless of the circumstances that they are in or burdens that they may be carrying!

I was reading in the ensign this past week and there is an awesome article about how the Book of Mormon teaches us the pattern by which we can follow and live happy lives! So all you have to do is read this awesome, true, and inspired book that was given to us from a loving Father in Heaven. It contains direct specifically for each and everyone of us and it was written for our day!

I’ve heard this my whole life. And it’s amazing every time I rediscover how happy the Book of Mormon can really make me. In the article, President Eyring points out two short chapters from the Book of Mormon that talk about happy people and how they became so happy!
1st: 2 Nephi 5 (So yes, there is important stuff in the book of 2 nephi. No you cant just skip over it…)
2 nephi 5: 27 And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness.

Maintain uplifting associations: Nephi was surronded by those who had similar values as him. This doesnt mean that we avoid associations with nonmembers…But don’t put yourself in situations that are against you moral values. Surround yourself with happy people who will uplift you and make you feel good. There are people that are outside of the church that still have good values! So those associations can extend outside of members of the church.
2 nephi 5: 6 Wherefore, it came to pass that I, Nephi, did take my family, and also Zoram and his family, and Sam, mine elder brother and his family, and Jacob and Joseph, my younger brethren, and also my sisters, and all those who would go with me. And all those who would go with me were those who believed in the warnings and the revelations of God; wherefore, they did hearken unto my words.

Align actions with beliefs:
If you aren’t living something that you believe in, chances are that youre going to frustrate yourself. In the words of Ghandi “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony”. But don’t get frustrated if you aren’t perfect! Repentance is essential. If you aren’t living the way that you believe, repent! Make changes step by step until you achieve your desires!
2 nephi 5: 10 And we did observe to keep the judgments, and the statutes, and the commandments of the Lord in all things, according to the law of Moses.

Accomplish hard work:
The reasons we are here on Earth are to receive a body, learn, grow, and gain experiences. Ultimately, we are trying to become more like Jesus Christ. Now believe it or not, that takes some hard work. I’m pretty far off of being perfect. But as we work hard and accomplish things that are hard to do, we feel happy and joyful.
2 nephi 5: 11 And the Lord was with us; and we did prosper exceedingly; for we did sow seed, and we did reap again in abundance. And we began to raise flocks, and herds, and animals of every kind.
2 nephi 5: 15 And I did teach my people to build buildings, and to work in all manner of wood, and of iron, and of copper, and of brass, and of steel, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious ores, which were in great abundance.

Focus on the temple:
Temple blessings and being happy are pretty much connected. They remind of our Heavenly Fathers love and help us understand why we are here on Earth. As we focus on the temple, we will feel closer to him.
2 nephi 5: 16 And I, Nephi, did build a temple; and I did construct it after the manner of the temple of Solomon save it were not built of so many precious things; for they were not to be found upon the land, wherefore, it could not be built like unto Solomon’s temple. But the manner of the construction was like unto the temple of Solomon; and the workmanship thereof was exceedingly fine.

2nd: 4 Nephi 1
4 Nephi 1:16 And there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God.

Share what you have with others: Wouldn’t it be amazing to live in a world where all things were common among us? Where everyone could partake of the heavenly gifts that we have all been given! The Lord himself has commanded us to care for those that are in need. Joy and happiness come to us as we fulfill that commandment.

4 Nephi 1: 3 And they had all things common among them; therefore there were not rich and poor, bond and free, but they were all made free, and partakers of the heavenly gift.
Belong to a family: Families bring us happiness!:) What more can be said! I love my family and they make me happier than anyone else! God gave us families so that we could be happy!:)
4 Nephi 1: 11 And they were married, and given in marriage, and were blessed according to the multitude of the promises which the Lord had made unto them.
Be a peacemaker: Youll see a reoccurring theme in the scriptures below.. There was no contention among them! Striving to be a peacemaker will bring us so much happiness. Stop waiting for others to give you what you think you deserve and give to others what you think you deserve. That will bring peace and that will bring happiness. Waiting on others to be peacemakers will only bring frustration. It derives from feeling like we are the center of the world and everyone should be trying to make us happy when in reality, we should be serving and trying to make others happy.
4 Nephi 1: 2 And it came to pass in the thirty and sixth year, the people were all converted unto the Lord, upon all the face of the land, both Nephites and Lamanites, and there were no contentions and disputations among them, and every man did deal justly one with another.
4 Nephi 1: 13 And it came to pass that there was no contention among all the people, in all the land; but there were mighty miracles wrought among the disciples of Jesus.
4 Nephi 1:15 And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.
4 Nephi 1: 18 And how blessed were they! For the Lord did bless them in all their doings; yea, even they were blessed and prospered until an hundred and ten years had passed away; and the first generation from Christ had passed away, and there was no contention in all the land.

All of the things above things are true because they just are… haha no but really. Being on a mission these are all things that we work our hardest to do. And it really does bring happiness that isn’t of this world. It’s a happiness that dwells with us despite our circumstances. Despite sadness, frustration, depression and all the other crazy emotions that you feel during life. So read the Book of Mormon and do these things!

We also had transfers this week! I’m with Elder Dunn now! Im super excited! We are going to get lots of work “dunn” and have lots of fun doing it!

Thanks for all that yall do! Love ya! Have a great week!

THE BETANCOURTS

3 02 2016

This week was amazing! Then again I feel like I say that every week. I guess the mission is just amazing. It’s hard work. But it’s fulfilling and it’s the best work! Really though. It’s like a really hard working vacation. We have the happiest and most life changing message and all we have to do is work hard and share it with everyone! We don’t have to worry about grades, school, work. We only have to worry about souls…only.. haha but it’s the best!

So this week was so great because we got to see the Betancourts get baptized. Well two of them have been baptized within the last two months. But three of them just got baptized this past week! Mikey, Samantha, and Helena! They are so amazing! I love that family so much. There are 10 children in the family. So we have lots more work to do there! The parents are not members either. I’ve had SO much fun meeting with them. Seeing them grow and come unto Christ has been so rewarding and I’ve been blessed to be a part of that process.

I’ve really been learning how important desire is lately. The Betancourt family have been some of the most amazing people I’ve worked with on my mission. I just love them so much. It honestly kinda bothers me how much I care about them. Because I think about how much it would hurt me if they ever fell away from the gospel and back into old ways. During their prayers they will often say things such as “I desire….” and ask for blessings. I thought that to be peculiar and then as I was reading through the Book of Mormon in Alma the word desire really started to stick out to me. I’ve shared this before but I love it so I’ll share it again.

“Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. The desires we act on determine our changing, our achieving, and our becoming.”

This is what its all about. What we become. We will be judged on our actions and the desires of our hearts. And it’s so amazing to hear someone plead with the Lord for the things that they desire. Especially at such a young and humble age as the Betancourts.

Alma 22 is another great example of desires.

16 But Aaron said unto him: If thou desirest this thing, if thou wilt bow down before God, yea, if thou wilt repent of all thy sins, and will bow down before God, and call on his name in faith, believing that ye shall receive, then shalt thou receive the hope which thou desirest.

17 And it came to pass that when Aaron had said these words, the king did bow down before the Lord, upon his knees; yea, even he did prostrate himself upon the earth, and cried mightily, saying:

18 O God, Aaron hath told me that there is a God; and if there is a God, and if thou art God, wilt thou make thyself known unto me, and I will give away all my sins to know thee, and that I may be raised from the dead, and be saved at the last day. And now when the king had said these words, he was struck as if he were dead.

Many of you already know that following this many are converted unto the Lord. Desire is so important! The Lord doesnt require perfect faith. He will start with the smallest desires of our hearts..

I love finding little patterns in the scriptures. Its like a puzzle to me. The scriptures are truly a blessing to us in our lives. They are compasses to direct our lives and give us all of the answers that we need. They will help us achieve our desires!

Well that’s all I have time for today! I feel like this was all a bit scattered but I was kinda in a rush! Thanks for always being so amazing! All of you.

OH! And in case any of you were wondering, this is Jesus Christ’s church! It’s been restored to the earth in its fullness and President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is true. And Jesus Christ is the Messiah! God lives and loves us all a lot..

THANKS!

With Love,

Elder Fischer

Lake Elsinore Week 3

Lake Elsinore continues to get better and better! This week we had 11 investigators come to church and 8 of them have baptismal dates! So thats super awesome! The ward does so much work for us. It’s amazing. And the Lord is blessing us so much right now!

We are so busy that the weeks go by too fast! I can hardly even remember everything that happened…This past Saturday President Mullen called and he gave me my official release date. Because I didn’t go to the MTC with the rest of my incoming group of missionaries, my release date was a little off. But he just rounded to the nearest release date. I asked him if I could extend so that I could go home with my incoming group on August 2nd but he said no… I figured it was a stretch. Earlier this year he told me that he can really only give or take 3 weeks so I figured 3 months would be a stretch. I guess may 10th is when I’m suppose to go home so that’s when I’ll go home… I just can’t imagine anything more fulfilling and amazing as this. But life goes on! Luckily I still have a good amount of time left:)

Something that really hit me hard this week was a quote by Tad R. Callister. He said “Sometimes we have missionaries who are so worried about offending people that in the process they never ever save them.” Our time is so valuable out here. It’s so short. We have to be bold in declaring repentance to everyone. We can’t be afraid of what they will think or say. We can’t be afraid that they wont like us anymore. Fear is not an attribute of a disciple of Jesus Christ. Not that kind of fear.. We have to be bold in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. If someone doesn’t hear the gospel because of something I fail to do or say, I don’t think being concerned about offending them is a very acceptable excuse. We have to talk with everyone. And we have to invite everyone!

Anyway… During church this week, I was pondering a lot about peace. As we teach people, we often promise them blessings of peace, happiness, and joy in their lives. So many people say they want peace in their lives. So I was thinking…What does that actually mean. I believe there are two different kinds of peace. One kind of peace is a worldly peace. You are content and well off financially. You can provide food to put on the table for your family. You have shelter to live under. You pretty much have everything you need and then some to spare. This is what most of the world seeks after. Enough money and temporal well-being to not have to work anymore. However, the peace that the Savior promises in John 14:27 is a much more powerful and special peace.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The kind of peace we should seek after. This peace comes from knowing that our Heavenly Father loves us. He knows and understands our situations. He has a plan for us. And whether we like how it is going or not, Heavenly Fathers plan is always working for us. We know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and He is the Light of the World. The smallest light will overcome a completely dark room. And the Light of the Savior will overcome the darkest and hardest times in our lives. The peace that He offers and that we should seek is a peace that exists regardless of circumstance. The worst of times and the best of times can be a blessing as we make Jesus Christ the foundation of our faith.

So that’s what I learned in church as I was pondering… And it’s true! I checked!

Well I’m gonna FIRE this off real quick! Love you all! Have a great week!

Elder Fischer

Lake Elsinore Week 2

And the second week was just as amazing as the first! The Lord just continues to bless us so much. The Ward here is incredible. They are missionary minded and have been very sincere and diligent about helping to find us people to teach. We have 6 investigators at church this week and I was amazed at the job that the ward did taking care of them. I hardly had to do anything.

The only bad part about this place so far is that there are not enough elders to play basketball:( So I’m recruiting from the ward and looking to find investigators that will play with us… haha this is the first area that ive had where basketball isnt THE thing to do on P-day.

Something that I’ve really come to appreciate this week is organization. Gods house is a house of order. His church is set up and organized in a very specific way. And everything that he asks us to do, whether it be from prophets of old, modern day prophets, or directly from him to us as personal revelation, it is the same. There is a reason for his instruction and we MUST obey. The reason that I am specifically grateful for that this week is because I’ve felt the pain as a result of missionaries who didnt keep records and were not organized…This week we had to spend a lot of time updating records, getting organized, and making plans for the upcoming weeks. BUT, as we did so, the Lord blessed us so much with the limited proselyting time that we had. I believe that keeping things organized and up to date shows the Lord that you care about the people in the area. You care about them and love them even after you leave the area. It shows him that he can trust you with his children.

This week we also had Elder Hamula come to visit our mission! It was an incredible experience. His conference was in preparation for the broadcast coming up on the 20th. He taught us the why, the what, and the how of missionary.

The why is because Heavenly Father wants ALL of his children back. He doesn’t just want the ones who are born into the church. He doesn’t only want the ones who are christian. He doesnt want 99% of them back. Heavenly Father wants EVERY single one of his children to return to him one day. And because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, every single one of them will one day return to him. However, not all of them will remain with him. No unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God. So, those who do not exercise faith unto repentance and follow Jesus Christ by being baptized, will not be able to remain with him. As missionaries, our Heavenly Father trusts us with a portion of his vineyard. I was looking at how BIG of a portion he is trusting me with. He trusts me to go out and serve every single person I can in the time that I am given and to do so with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength. So I must take advantage to teach repentance everywhere, every time, and too everyone. No exceptions. There is not one single person that I pass on the street that the Lord does not want to return to him one day, and most importantly, remain with him. So that is why we need missionary work. Because Heavenly Father loves and wants all of his children to return to him one day.

The what of mission work is what we teach in order to achieve the why. We teach people that they need to have faith unto repentance and exercise that faith by being baptized by someone who has proper priesthood authority.

The how of missionary work is by inviting. We need to first teach the doctrine, then boldly invite others to repent and be baptized. We do that by helping people make and keep commitments. This also prepares them for covenants that they will make later on in their lives.

I felt sooo inspried and spiritually feed following the conference. I was pumped and ready to go out and teach everyone within the sound of my voice! I feel so blessed and honored to be teaching the same doctrine the Christ taught when he was on the earth. Doing the same thing that he did. There is no greater work!

Thanks for your love and prayers! Hope you all have great weeks!

Elder Fischer

Crazy and action packed week! And life couldn’t get much better! MISSIONARY WORK IS AMAZING! If your life seems like it kinda stinks and is really boring, go invite someone to be baptized! Go do missionary work! Its the cure-all for everything! The church is true. The Book of Mormon is true. Thomas S. Monson is a man called of God to be our prophet. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. And they love us a lot…

All of the above information is true… I checked.

Soooo events that happened this week..
1. TRANSFERRED! To Lake Elsinore, CA! And it is amazing! Everyone here is amazing. There is not one person here that is not amazing… This week we were blessed soooo much! It was pretty much as if we were getting doubled in at the beginining of the week but by the end of the week we had found about 12 new investigators. And we got 5 of them to come to church! It was so great! Sometimes, in life, you just gotta hit the pavement and WORK! It takes WORK to have success in life. You just have to outwork the competitors and give it all that you have, and you’ll find success. That’s why MJ was the best. That’s why Kobe is the second best. Work, work, work as if everything depended on you and pray as if everything relied on the Lord. I asked Elder Corbride what he had learned this week and he said that if you want to get work done, you have to work.

2. One of the highlights of my week was meeting a family. The Betancourts! Two of their older sisters have just gotten baptized and when we went to see them I saw TONS of little children running around. Sooooo I gathered the children and they are soooo ready! It amazes me how children are so humble and ready to learn sometimes. They remember everything we teach them and all come running to the door when we knock. Part of it may be because we always bring Jolly Ranchers…But I think that’s only a small part.

3. GEORGIE got baptized!!!! Man I left to go to Lake Elsinore last Monday but I was back in Riverside on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. haha. Georgie is the best. He is only 9 but I feel confident that he is going to lead the rest of his family into the waters of baptism.

Lots of other stuff happened but that’s missionary work.. I wish I could tell you everything because it is so amazing but there is no time:(

ADVERSITY! By President Henry B. Eyring…Man I love this man. These were some of my favorite quotes from the talk..

I will share with you some of my personal thoughts as well but in order for the Lord to teach you what He wants you to learn, I hope that you will read and ponder this talk on your own time..

1. God has a course set for us. He knows all and he loves us. Why would we ever question the events that happen in our life if we understand that God is in control. He loves us and He will always direct our course. As long as we don’t lean to our own understanding;) Whats crucial in having faith that everything will work out is knowing that we are doing everything that we are suppose to do. We have to be keeping the commandments and magnifying our calling in order to receive a confidence and trust that the Lord will guide our lives.
2. Often times, when we are angry at trials that come, it is because we THINK that we deserve better. Or that things that are happening are unfair. TRUST IN GOD! He is just. He is fair.
3. Trials are a evidence of Gods love for us… That’s so cool. It’s an OPPORTUNITY for us to grow and become more like him. So if you feel that you have lots of trials..God loves you a lot! He is helping you to prepare for something better!
4. We need to make the right choices at all times. Not just when things are good. When it’s the hardest to make a righteous choice, that’s when we need to come through the most. The last rep is the hardest rep to lift. But it brings the biggest results in muscle growth.
5. Find comfort in solace that their is a Balm in Gilead. The Lord will deliver us. Be patient and endure with cheerfulness. When we accept His will and His timing, we will find peace and comfort in the hardest of times.
1. I bear you my testimony that God the Father lives. He set a course for each of us that can polish and perfect us to be with Him.

2. The anger comes at least in part from a feeling that what is happening is unfair.

3. The very opportunity for us to face adversity and affliction is part of the evidence of Their infinite love. God gave us the gift of living in mortality so that we could be prepared to receive the greatest of all the gifts of God, which is eternal life. Then our spirits will be changed. We will become able to want what God wants, to think as He thinks, and thus be prepared for the trust of an endless posterity to teach and to lead through tests to be raised up to qualify to live forever in eternal life.

4. It is clear that for us to have that gift and to be given that trust, we must be transformed through making righteous choices when that is hard to do.

5. The Lord always suits the relief to the person in need to best strengthen and purify him or her.

Well thats all that I have time for this week! Thanks for all of your love and prayers! I love you all so much and feel your support! It drives me to work harder. I see the blessings of great family and friends that I have received and feel the desire to help others receive those blessings as well. Ya’ll are the best!

San Bernardino Shooting

8 12 2015

We received an email from Elder Fischer’s Mission President after the shootings in CA last week to inform us that all missionaries were safe and accounted for.  The shooting did not occur in Zack’s mission however the ensuing car chase did enter into his mission and actually on the main thorough fare where he is currently serving.  Here is his response to my question I asked in my weekly letter this week:

Questions: How has the shooting affected your mission work this week or has it? Has it made people more receptive or more suspicious?

Answer: It hasn’t really affected the work in the mission. Just the day of. Some people were pretty scared. For some parts of the mission, we had to call missionaries in. Just the ones that bordered San Bernardino. Apparently there was a chase following the shootings that led down into Riverside. And it was off the freeway right next to the main/biggest road in MY area. So that’s crazy.. haha

I also asked him another question about his current assignment – he is traveling around the mission and spending 3 or 4 days with different companionships and this was part of his response – I loved what he said about faith and wanted to share it with all.

Answer: One insight that I’ve gained is that the Lord is preparing people in every area (to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ). It isn’t just sporadic spots in the mission that are really amazing for missionary work. But the principal of faith is vital. We need to have faith to ACT. Because Faith is a principal of power, it can yield some impressive results as we truly trust that the Lord is preparing people for us.

Below is Elder Fischer’s letter for this week:

Hey! I don’t really have time to say much today. But I wanted to send something off real quick!

Today we went golfing again. I didn’t seem to hit them as straight but that’s golf for you. It will teach you patience real fast. I started off well, but then hit a slump. But that’s life! Lots of ups and downs. Luckily we have the Atonement to carry us through. Fortunately, Jesus Christ has already played the full course for us and He got a perfect score! However, he also experienced the sand traps, water hazards, and large trees that seem to always stand in the way of your ball. And He will ALWAYS give us a Mulligan (Do-over) when we ask for it. Sometimes He will even give us a footwedge (Dad should know what I mean) to help us get out of tricky situations. Haha I know this was all a stretch but it’s all true! I’m grateful for this time of year to reflect on the Saviors birth. I’m grateful for His Atonement. Because of it, there is no transgression, sin, mistake or trial that we cannot overcome. As we come to apply the Atonement into our everyday lives, we will feel his hand guiding us. He can free us from guilt, pain, regret, and sorrow. I am SO grateful His life, ministry, teachings, example, and atonement. Especially after going golfing. Sometimes we need it the most after that…hehe jk.

Everything is going well here! The work is great! The missionaries are awesome! Ward is amazing! We are safe. No terrorists can stop the work from progressing! Persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble and calumny may defame…They(terrorists) can leave. No one wants them here…

Love you all! Hope you are enjoying your Christmas season! Give give give this Christmas season! Give to someone who you don’t think deserves it. You will be blessed. I promise.
