Baseball, Baseball, Baseball!

14 08 2015

This week was exhaaaaaaaausting! I still havent recovered from it. I dont think im going to either…We had a training meeting for all of the trainers and new missionaries, a couple exchanges, MLC, and a baseball game. The baseball game was a nice relaxing way to end the week. But I didnt get to sleep before 12:30 until Saturday night. Sunday night we are at the office late recording numbers. Monday-Wednesday we were at the office preparing trainings/paperwork for MLC. Then Friday night we didnt get home until late and between planning and everything else, we got to bed late again! So by the time Sunday rolled around i was crazy tired! The cool thing about it is that i feel physically depleted but i feel so spiritually feed. Its the only thing that keeps me going!

Our mission president let our whole mission go to the Lake Elsinore Storm game last friday! It turned out to be more of a mission reunion than anything… but it was way fun! haha. Every year that have a “Stormin Mormon” night where they invite local stakes all around riverside county. Right before the game started I went out on the field and told everyone that they needed to repent of their sins and be baptized…haha well thats what i wanted to say but i wasnt allowed to. But i did introduce our purpose as missionaries and gave a little speeeeech. It was a lot of fun being at the game. We were certainly the life of the party at the game. Ill attach some pics.

This week i have really be studying the power of the book of Mormon in our lives. Lately, i have been doing the Preach my Gospel Book of Mormon challenge and marking references, attributes, and words of Christ. Its amazing how big of a perspective it gives me. I understand things quite a bit more thoroughly now. So much of this gospel really hinges of the Book of Mormon. To be straight forward, the book is either from Satan or it is from God. There is no way you can read that book with an open heart, apply the principals contained inside of it, and be convinced that the book is not of God. I find myself thirsting to read from the book of Mormon. Whenever i have a hard time all i want to do is go lose myself in its pages. The spirit is so strong as i read through. If you havent read from the book of Mormon recently i challenge you to do so. Allow yourself to feel of the spirit that it contains. Draw closer to Christ by abiding by its precepts. I know that it is the word of God and as Joseph Smith said, it is the most correct of any other book in the world.

” For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history—perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands. Failed theories about its origins have been born and parroted and have died—from Ethan Smith to Solomon Spaulding to deranged paranoid to cunning genius. None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator. In this I stand with my own great-grandfather, who said simply enough, “No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.”

Well i hope you all are doing swell! Have a great week and keep pressing forward with steadfast faith in Christ!

He WANTS to Bless Us

Moroni 10:32

Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all
ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you,
that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

John 8:29

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do
always those things that please him.
D&C 130:20-21

There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this
world, upon which all blessings are predicated—
And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law
upon which it is predicated.

3 Nephi 5:13

Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.
These are some of my favorite scriptures that I have been studying the last week. In Moroni, he tells us that as we love God with all of our heart might mind and strength then is His grace sufficient for us. And thru that grace, we may be perfect in Christ. What an amazing scripture! It doesn’t seem to me that the Lord is asking for a lukewarm effort. It isn’t enough to just go to church. It isn’t enough to just do your home-teaching. It isn’t even enough to just go on a mission. It is a total commitment. It’s all-in. The Lord wants our whole heart. And it is really difficult. But that’s why we are SO blessed with grace. Through His grace, we may be perfected as we give it everything we have got.
I love this scripture in John. How much easier would our lives be if we did always the things that pleased the Father- to put Him first and put the world behind us -to honor and keep his commandments with a sincere heart. That becomes a lot easier when we recognize the eternal principal behind commandments. God gives us commandments because He WANTS to bless us. He really sincerely wants to bless us! He is just waiting to do it because He needs us to be obedient first. Like D&C says, we will always receive blessings from God as we obey his commandments. When we disobey, we receive punishment. However, those blessings and punishments don’t always come when we expect them too. Sometimes there is a delay. That’s why it is so important that we ALWAYS do the things that please the Father. Then He will constantly be blessing us.
This last scripture in 3 Nephi has become one of my all-time favorites. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and there is no greater calling than to declare his word among his people. There is no greater joy.
The past two weeks, we have had a lot of multi-zone conferences. Hearing this message again and again really inspired me. These are the things that really stuck out to me and I hope to implement them into my life. I also attached a link to a Mormon message that I really like titled Strive. I hope you all will have time to watch it! The Lord needs and wants more passionate disciples. And he wants us to know that we are never alone in our journey here on earth. As we continue to strive to be his disciples, he is always there to lift us up when we fall…to ease our yoke and lighten our burdens. I know that’s true.
That’s all for this week! Hope life is treating all of you well! I really appreciate all of your support and love! I don’t always get back to each of you every week and I’m sorry for that! I’m trying my best! There just isn’t enough time in the day!
